JON BRADY DELIGHTED WITH 'DOMINANT PERFORMANCE'

The views of the Cobblers boss

9 March 2024

Jon Brady praised his players and the travelling Cobblers fans after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Cambridge United.

"We were disappointed with the goal we conceded but I felt we responded well," he said.

"We spoke at half time and said we just needed to play with a little more purpose, a little more speed, and I thought we were excellent in the second half.

"I thought we dominated the second half and it would have been a travesty had we not taken anything from the game.

"Tuesday was tough, but the distances we covered were the third highest this season, so there was no lack of effort, we just came up against a good side.

"We showed good character to be the dominant side today. We had a disrupted build up, we lost Sam Sherring and Mitch Pinnock on Friday but Harvey Lintott and Liam Moore came in and I felt both were excellent, and we had to bring Max Dyche back from loan and that shows how stretched we are defensively.

"I am really pleased for Liam, that was his first start for two years and he has shown an awful lot of hard work and commitment to get to this point.

"We are up to 50 points now, that is not our target, it is a milestone but we want to kick on from here and finish strongly.

"Thank you to our fans. They have travelled in big numbers this week, their support is superb and I am pleased we could celebrate that equaliser today in front of them today."
