Ian Sampson says that knowing the club will be in Sky Bet League One next season with a few games of the current season to go, does help with planning.
"Knowing what league we will be in next season at this stage does help," he said. "We can plan but to be honest, recruitment is an ongoing process that never really stops.
“It does help though and we can look ahead knowing where we will be and we do have targets in mind. Meetings about recruitment have already taken place and more are going on but we know what we want to do.
"In terms of the players out of contract here that is something the manager will talk about when the time is right. As staff we have an input and we say what we think, but the final decision rests with the manager, and that is as it should be."
