Jon Brady has called on his Northampton Town side to finish the season strongly as the Cobblers prepare to welcome Derby County to Sixfields on Saturday.
Brady said the squad know they need to do better than the result at Wycombe last weekend, and that is the challenge they face when the Cobblers meet the promotion chasing Rams.
“There was nothing really in the game at Wycombe but we gave away two soft goals and in the end we just didn’t do enough in terms of testing their goalkeeper," he said.
"We put some good entries into the box but we didn’t’ make the most of that. I felt we should have come away with a point but we didn’t and we move on.
“We feel we’ve had a good season and we want to try and finish strongly, we’ve got seven games to go and there are some really tough challenges in there.
“We have hit a bit of a rough spot at the minute but consistently through the season we have picked up points and that has kept our points total ticking over.
“We are working hard to try and turn this little patch around and we want to finish the season as strongly as we can.
“Things aren’t just going to turn around, we need to do that together. We knew there would be some hugely tough months for us this season and the injuries we’ve had to our backline have made it even tougher.
“We’ve set high expectations and we will keep working hard to try and pick up as many points as we can between now and the end of the season.”
