JON BRADY LOOKING FORWARD TO OXFORD TRIP

The views of the Cobblers boss with 1,300 fans set to travel to the Kassam Stadium

Jon Brady is looking forward to another tough test as he previews Tuesday night’s trip to play off chasing Oxford United.

“We know it’s going to be a hard game but we hit a good rhythm in the game on Saturday and hopefully we can carry that on at Oxford,” he said.

“They are right up there but we’ve shown we can put in good performances against strong sides and Oxford are a very strong side.

“When we looked at the schedule we knew this would be a tough month but our focus is purely on the next game. We’ve played a lot of teams up and around the promotion places and we know we will need to put in a strong performance on Tuesday night to get a result.

“We always put pressure on ourselves to play the best we possibly can and just because we got a win at the weekend there is never a concern that we will ease off because of that.

“We work on five game sets and we have a points tally in those games that we want to achieve.

“We never lose sight of what we want to do but the focus is always on the next game and the next performance.

“It should be a terrific atmosphere and to have 1,300 fans travelling on a Tuesday night is a terrific effort. It’s great to see Sixfields packed out on a more regular basis and with the Saints as well it feels like there is a real vibrance to the town right now.

“The crowds have really added to the energy in the games and that is hugely important. I feel the players have created a really good connection with the fans and hopefully we can give the fans something back again on Tuesday night.”
