JON BRADY'S POST MATCH REACTION

The views of the Cobblers boss

20 April 2024

Jon Brady was pleased with the overall performance was left to rue defensive lapses as he reflected on the 2-1 home defeat to Exeter City.

“I thought we started really well and then there was a period before half-time where we should have scored two or three,” he said.

“We gave away a sloppy goal in the first half but we came back in the second half without maybe testing their goal enough.

“Overall I’m pleased with the way we played and how we played, on another day we see the game out by half-time and its job done but Exeter got a few breaks and it wasn’t to be for us today.

“This is our best points tally in 16 years at this level, yes we wanted to finish the season here with a win but it has still been a brilliant season and we played some excellent football again today.

“We’d love to get to 60 points and its going to be one hell of a game at Barnsley next week. We wanted to finish on a high at home today but it wasn’t to be and football is not always like that.

“League One is going to be extremely competitive next season and its going to be tough. It is going to be an even bigger challenge next season but we will give it a go.”
