JON BRADY HAPPY AS COBBLERS GO BEYOND POINTS TARGET

The views of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady was a happy man as he reflected on the 2-0 home win over Port Vale on Easter Monday.

Mitch Pinnock opened the scoring on 34 minutes with substitute Shaun McWilliams wrapping up the points in second half stoppage time.

“The boys put in a lot of hard work and I’m really pleased with the result,” he said.

“We’ve reached our points target which was 54 points and to eclipse that is credit to everyone.

“We changed our shape today to match Port Vale’s physicality and I felt we looked strong.

“It was a great goal from Mitch, I asked him to do a job for us today because of the injuries we’ve got and over the years I think this group has really shown their versatility.

“It was good to have Lee Burge back and I’m over the moon for him today. He made a couple of really good saves and I’m really pleased for him.

“It’s a bit harsh on Louie Moulden but he has probably had more games than he thought he would and it’s a chance for Lee now.

“We’ve got a lot of players to look at in these last four games and Lee is one of them.

“Liam Moore came off at half-time with a shoulder injury, I don’t want to speculate but it doesn’t look good.

“We have reached our points target from the start of the season but we’ve got another target to move onto and its important we finish the season strong.”
