Jon Brady says the club are working very hard to add to the squad in the coming weeks, but he is happy to remain patient in a very competitive market.
“This is my third season doing this now and we are working very hard," he said.
“The transfer market goes quite mad early on, we said our aim was to try and recruit seven or eight players and we are right in the thick of it at the moment.
“There is a big difference between League 1 and League 2 in terms of financials although with the clubs in League 2 for the coming season that has stepped up a notch too.
“In league 1 there is a big disparity between the teams at the top and the teams at the bottom in terms of the financials and we are certainly not at the level of some clubs in this league.
“We are looking at players who we feel are on an upward trajectory in their career and fit our profile.
“The landscape has changed even over the last couple of years and it is a really strong league but we believe in what we are doing with our recruitment.
“We believe we can improve players, our intention is to go into the season having put together the best squad we can and we are working tirelessly to do that.
“We were very patient last year and I feel our work paid off.
“Our recruitment over time has been good and a good sign of that is the players that we have re-signed.
“That shows our recruitment is working and it is great for the fans to get that rapport with those players.
“We have got a strong base of players and we just need to add to that.”
