Northampton Town signed defender Sam Sherring from AFC Bournemouth in July 2022 after the two clubs agreed a compensation package.
The centre back signed a 2 year deal at Sixfields and arrived after making 29 appearances across two loan spells at clubs in League 1 in 2021/22, Accrington Stanley and Cambridge United. Prior to that, Sherring was on loan at Torquay United and was named in the National League Team of the Season for 2020/21 as he made 49 appearances for the Gulls.
