Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Introduction

Northampton Town Football Club is committed to minimising our potential impact on the environment.
We will work to continually improve our environmental and sustainable performance as a fundamental part of our business strategy and operations.
We encourage our supporters, staff, sponsors, partners, suppliers and all other stakeholders who engage with the Club to do the same.
This policy sets out our environmental and sustainability policy and of key commitments.

Key Commitments
We are committed to reducing the impact of our activities on the environment, supporting improvements, and adhering to sustainable principals.
We are an EFL Green Clubs member and will continue to work on sustainability with the EFL through GreenCode.
We are committed to reducing the impact of our business activities on the environment through:
• Complying with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and seek to exceed them wherever possible
• Continually monitor, review, analyse and develop strategies to reduce our consumption of natural resources (energy, water and raw materials)
• Setting objectives and targets with the aim of achieving continuous improvement in our performance
• Consume and purchase less by identifying and eradicating wasteful practice
• Maximise recycling opportunities by partnering with a waste recycling company who will work closely with us to ensure we recycle as much of our waste as possible
• Dispose of waste responsibly
• Procure energy efficient equipment and look to utilise energy efficient technologies
• Developing the use of greener and sustainable practices and technologies are far as is possible
• Working with and educating staff, supporters, suppliers, partners and stakeholders to share our objectives and how they can help us in achieving them
• Operate company vehicles with due regard to the environment as far as practical
• Explore opportunities to generate our own power
• Sustainable grounds maintenance and exploring landscaping opportunities on our grounds to support the environment
• Encouraging the use of public transport and other transport initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact

Responsibilities
While all staff within the organisation have a responsibility to uphold the commitments in this policy, specific responsibility is assigned to the Chief Executive, to ensure this policy is fully and effectively implemented and ensuring that relevant processes and practices are in place. The Chief Executive is also the Director responsible for sustainability and for reporting to the Board.

Review
Northampton Town Football Club will review this Environmental and Sustainability Policy at least annually. More frequent reviews will be undertaken following any changes to legislation.
