ROB PAGE - 'WE ARE AFTER A POSITIVE REACTION'

21 October 2016

The Cobblers boss previews Shrewsbury Town v Northampton Town

After defeat on Tuesday, Cobblers boss Rob Page is looking for a response from his players  in Saturday’s trip to Shrewsbury Town.

"We were all hurting after the game on Tuesday but what’s important now is that we all stick together,” he said.

“We win and lose games together but we are all as one, Tuesday has gone now and we move on to the next game.

“The boys will be ready and we are after a positive reaction. There is not a lot wrong we just need to tweak one or two things and hopefully Saturday will be the start of us putting things right.

“Shrewsbury, in my mind are in a false position, and they are fighting for points for different reasons. For me they are in a false position but they are where they are because they haven’t won many games and we need to capitalise on that.

“They are a club that shouldn’t be where they are and we have got to respect that but at the same time we are desperate to get out of this little rut that we are in. We need a win to get us back on track and we will be working hard to try and get that on Saturday.

“Shrewsbury will be looking at us having conceded three goals in our last two games and people will be talking about us from a set-piece point of view but we’ve got to stand up and be counted.

“You have to deal with that but at any minute it will turn for us and we will get back to winning ways.

“It’s important we keep working hard and the work that we do isn’t different to when we were having a good spell. You go through spells like this in a season but we will come out of it the better for it.

“We had a good start to the season which has enabled us this little bad spell and we are still only three points off the play-offs.

“We are getting punished for our errors at the minute but the tide will turn and it’s important we keep focused on what we are all about and where we want to go this season.”
