CHRIS WILDER LOOKING FOR TROPHY PROGRESS

1 September 2015

The Cobblers boss on Northampton Town v Colchester United

Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first round tie against Colchester United at Sixfields.

“We want to do well and we want to progress,” he said.

“We will make changes but we are required to play six of our starting eleven from either our last or next game and I have to say that I think the amount of games we’ve played in the first month of the season is absolutely ridiculous.

“9 games in 28 days at the start of a season is crazy for both players and supporters and if you look at September I think there is only one midweek game at the end of the month.

“It’s a tough schedule but we’ve got to try and find a way through it and get a result against Colchester.

“We can’t make big changes but because of the workload we’ve had and the travelling we’ve done in the last week but we will pick a side we feel can go and get a result.”
