CONTRACT SIGNED FOR EAST STAND WORK TO RE-START

25 March 2015

Buckingham staff will return to the site immediately

Northampton Town Football Club and Buckingham Group have signed a new contract for work to resume on the East Stand at Sixfields.

Buckingham staff will return to the site immediately.

"I am delighted we can draw a line under this matter," said Cobblers Chairman David Cardoza.

"It has been a frustrating time for the club,  our supporters and  for the contractor, but we can move on now and we are delighted to be able to welcome Buckingham Group back to the site.

"Their staff will be on site immediately and we are looking forward to having the new stand open  during the early weeks of next season.

"We have been in active, constructive dialogue with Buckingham Group for a while, and we are really looking forward to working with them again to help give this club facilities it has never had before in its history.

"I would like to thank our supporters for their patience and their support.

"I would also like to thank Paul Gibbs at Pick Everard for helping us conclude the contract negotiations.”

Paul Wheeler, Chairman of Buckingham Group Contracting added, "We share the frustrations of the supporters and following the unwelcome delay to the stadium  project, we are delighted that all issues are now resolved with the club and our previous client. We are really looking forward to getting back on site and resuming work on the East Stand.

"We are delighted to be working with the club and to be bringing supporters the new facilities. It is excellent news for the club, the supporters and the local area. Over the next few months the new stand will be completed and will be ready for supporters to use early on during the 2015/16 season."
