Cobblers boss Chris Wilder previews the visit of Stevenage on Saturday.
“We need to get our league campaign back up and running and we have to believe that Saturday will be the start of that,” he said.
“It was a gallant effort on Tuesday night and for a team not on a good run we showed a lot of spirit and fight.
“Even the games we’ve lost this season we’ve been in right until the end and I don’t think we are a million miles away from getting on a run ourselves.
“The spirit, the fight and the determination of the players were evident on Tuesday night and we have to build on that going into the next set of league fixtures.
“It’s going to be a competitive game on Saturday, Stevenage have got a strong squad and they are always a competitive fit side.”
