Northampton Town's under 18s travelled to MK Dons on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division game.
A Lewis Irwin penalty proved decisive as the Cobblers won the game 1-0, leaving Professional Development Phase Coach Mark Lyons delighted.
“It was a game we always felt in control of,” he said.
“We felt we dominated the first hour and although we sat off a bit when MK Dons went down to ten men the boys managed the game really well.
“It was great to keep a clean sheet and both Jarvis Wilson and Ethan Lamptey played the full 90 minutes. Both of them have been out for a long time with broken bones and to see them come through the full 90 was really pleasing.”
