Northampton Town signed Barnsley midfielder Will Hondermarck for an undisclosed fee in January 2023.

Hondermarck signed a two and a half year contract at Sixfields having been a player tracked by the club for some time. He is a Republic of Ireland youth international joined Barnsley from Norwich City in 2021, making seventeen appearances during his time at Oakwell. He started three Championship games and came off the bench in six others for the Reds in 2021/22, while he made a further seven appearances for the Oakwell outfit in 2022/23. Hondermarck is a 6ft 1in tall, athletic, imposing midfield player who was born in France but raised in Dublin, Ireland, impressing in his time with Drogheda United before joining the Canaries and also enjoying a short spell on loan with Harrogate Town during the 2020/21 campaign.
