An immensely popular figure at Kenilworth Road, McCormack was also highly thought of at Brentford, where in 2014 he helped the Bees reach the Championship, being named the Brentford player of the season and also being named in the League 1 team of the season. Those honours were achieved in more than a century of appearances for the Bees, while he also achieved a promotion and player of the season award at Swindon Town, helping the Robins to the League 2 title in 2012, before captaining them to the League 1 play offs the following season.
