Northampton Town signed defender Patrick Brough in the summer of 2023.

The 6ft 3in left back arrived at Sixfields after making 173 appearances in a highly successful four year stay at Barrow. Brough began his career with Carlisle United, making 49 appearances with four more games coming during a 2016 loan spell with Lincoln City, playing twenty times on a similar basis for Salford City. Moves to Morecambe (23 appearances) and Falkirk (21 appearances) followed before he moved to Holker Street becoming a regular as Barrow won promotion to the EFL, playing a further 46 times last season as the Bluebirds achieved a very creditable 9th placed finish in Sky Bet League 2. Brough rejected a new contract offered by Barrow and was linked to a number of clubs before making the move to Sixfields.
