The Cobblers’ FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands fixture at home to Sporting Khalsa on Sunday 10th March 2024 will be played at Sixfields, kicking-off at 2pm, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Josh Oldfield and Liam Williams’ side have had a successful second season in the fourth tier so far, securing a place in the top half of the table at the midpoint of the campaign.
Their opponents are the division’s in-form side, having remained unbeaten in their final seven league matches leading up to February. They won six games of those games and scored 39 goals during the run.
Scott Loughran, Women’s and Girls’ Development Officer at the Northampton Town Community Trust, is eagerly anticipating the fixture.
“We are very excited to be returning to Sixfields,” he said.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to come together and show our support for the women’s game.
“Our attendances have been increasing year-on-year, and we want to break our record crowd of 1,025.”
Joint-manager Williams added: “It feels like a long time since our last fixture at Sixfields, so we’re looking forward to playing there again.
“We’ve got a great record there, and we’ll be looking to maintain that in what will be a tough fixture.
“With a big crowd behind us, I’m sure we’ll be able to entertain our fans and make it a special day for them.”
