NORTHAMPTON TOWN WOMEN MANAGEMENT DELIGHTED WITH AWAY WIN

Reaction to Tuesday's game

13 March 2024

Northampton Town Women joint-managers Josh Oldfield and Liam Williams were delighted with their side’s 4-1 win away to Boldmere St. Michaels in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands on Tuesday.

Kim Farrow scored a brace whilst Laila Channell and Mia Richards netted the Cobblers’ other goals as they defeated the title contenders, completing the double over them this season.

“We were sharp, intense and difficult to play against,” Oldfield said.

“We were threatening at the top end of the pitch, and the performance was full of character.

“The girls gave us everything tonight, they were outstanding.”

The Cobblers host Lincoln City in their next FAWNL Division One Midlands fixture on Sunday.

“If the girls perform like they did tonight, they’ll find themselves on the right end of results more often than not,” Williams added.

“There was quality, desire and hard-work all over the pitch.

“Our focus is now on Sunday, and we feel we’re in a much better place than when they beat us earlier in the season.

“We want to put that result right, and we’re ready for the challenge.”
