JON BRADY DELIGHTED TO CLAIM WIN OVER DERBY COUNTY

The views of the Cobblers boss

23 March 2024

Jon Brady was delighted as Sam Hoskins goal midway through the first half sealed a 1-0 home win over promotion chasing Derby County at a packed out Sixfields.

“I am incredibly proud of this group,” he said.

“I had to shuffle the pack with Jon Guthrie and Max Dyche being out and Jack Sowerby having to play centre half.

“We’ve been through some tough moments but we are a close knit club and today was for our chief executive James Whiting.

“We had to make one or two blocks but we scored a magnificent goal, it was a world class finish from Sam and we also hit the post and should have had a penalty.

“The players commitment was fantastic and it was a really good performance.

“Tactically we set out to play the way we did and everyone, including the subs that came on were fantastic. The players really put a shift in and their work rate was incredible.

“We had ten players out today and to beat Derby is quite remarkable really.

“We will have a body count for Friday and we’ve still got six games to go but lets enjoy today and this moment.”
