11th-placed Northampton Town host 19th-placed Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon.

TEAM NEWS

Jon Brady has named the same starting XI for the last three fixtures and the Cobblers boss is pleased to have had that continuity.

“I do like continuity but I can also be flexible if we need to be,” he said.

“Having players back and available and more competition for places is great. We’ve got some bumps and bruises from the weekend but hopefully everyone should be okay for Charlton. I’m not expecting anyone else to come back in for Saturday and the squad will be similar.

“We’ve had a busy schedule of late and it’s been good to have this midweek free but we know we have got the same challenge ahead.

"It is a brutal schedule but we have to face it head on.

“We’ve been patient with the players coming back like Ben Fox and we’ve had to gradually build up minutes.

“Ben coming back has been a big positive and it’s been good for Will Hondermarck to get a run of games. He’s in strong form and it’s great to have that competition for places that we’ve now got. I’ve not always had that before in my time here and to have that competition is a massive positive for us."

Louis Appéré scored a 97th-minute winner as Northampton Town snatched a 3-2 victory away to 10-player Charlton Athletic in the reverse fixture in January.

The Cobblers opened the scoring early on when Tyreece Simpson controlled Kieron Bowie’s through ball, cut inside and finished.

The Addicks equalised midway through the opening period as the unfortunate Aaron McGowan turned Alfie May’s low cross into his own net.

However, the defender made amends less than two minutes later when he set up Sam Hoskins who swept home to restore the visitors’ lead.

Freddie Ladapo’s shot was blocked and Tennai Watson drilled the follow-up across goal to draw the visitors level three minutes into first half injury time.

Charlton were reduced to 10 players late on when Tayo Edun was sent-off for a second bookable offence, and Appéré slotted home having ran onto Mitch Pinnock’s pass to put the Cobblers ahead for the third time deep into the seven additional minutes.

The defeat led to the dismissal of Addicks head coach Michael Appleton, following a 10-match winless run in Sky Bet League One.
