Northampton Town Under 18s coach Shane Goddard was pleased with his side’s 3-2 win at home to Luton Town in the EFL Youth Alliance South East on Tuesday.
Neo Dobson scored a brace and Reuben Wyatt netted the young Cobblers’ other goal as they secured a victory in the rearranged fixture.
“We were really good value for the win,” Goddard said.
“Luton are a strong side, but we defended well in all three thirds.
“Our shape and press caused them problems, and the movement and vision for the first goal was brilliant.
“We went 2-1 down, but I don’t think we deserved to be behind, and our reaction was really good.
“We’ve taken six points off one of the favourites for the league title, and Saturday is another opportunity to showcase what we’re about.
“We’ll be looking for another strong performance.”
