NORTHAMPTON TOWN SIGN NORWICH CITY ATTACKER TONY SPRINGETT ON LOAN

Wide player arrives at Sixfields for the rest of the season

15 January 2024

Northampton Town have signed Norwich City attacking player Tony Springett on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21 year old Republic of Ireland under 21 international has progressed through the Norwich City academy and has so far made 18 first team appearances for the Canaries, including thirteen this season, ten of which have come in the Championship.

Springett also enjoyed a loan spell with Derby County last season, making ten appearances for the Rams.

"Tony is an exciting, attacking player who can play in the wide positions," said manager Jon Brady.

"He has been in and around the Norwich squad over the last couple of seasons and he also played for Derby a number of times last season.

"He has a good pedigree and he adds depth to our squad in attacking positions.

"He has played in the Premier League, the Championship and League One so has a good pedigree and good ability and we believe he will fit in well in the excellent dressing room we have here."
