LOUIE MOULDEN ATTRACTED BY CLUB'S REPUTATION FOR DEVELOPING PLAYERS

New signing on why he made the move to Sixfields

Goalkeeper Louie Moulden has been speaking about his decision to move to Northampton Town for the rest of the season.

The Wolves keeper arrives on the back of a hugely successful spell at Rochdale, and is keen to continue his career progression with the Cobblers.

"It seemed like a really good opportunity to come here and a positive next step for me,” he said.

"I saw the games Max Thompson played and how he developed and that was great. I have not come here just to make the numbers up, this is a challenge I am ready to throw myself into.

"Lee Burge is a very good keeper and I am here to come and fight for the shirt with him, that is how it should be. I am comfortable with that, you want competition for places and that can help both of us and ultimately the club.

"I saw the club go up last season and they have done really well this season. It has been an excellent season so far, it is not a fluke, you are where you deserve to be in the table and this is a club in a good place at the moment.

"I spoke to (former Cobblers keeper, now at Wolves) Tom King about the move here and he told me this is a great club to be at. He said I would enjoy myself here and that was important for me to hear about the club from him. It gave me a lot of reassurance.

"The club here have a great reputation in the game for developing keepers and young players in general. The fact that the likes of Marc Leonard and Kieron Bowie were keen to come back on loan and that their clubs were willing to let them tells you all you need to know."
