7 January 2024

Five Northampton Town loanees featured for their temporary sides on Saturday afternoon.

James Dadge and Josh Tomlinson both played the full 90 minutes as St. Ives Town won 5-0 at home to Leiston in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

Goalkeeper Dadge has rejoined the Saints on work experience, having made 16 league appearances for the club last season, whilst defender Tomlinson’s loan has been extended until the end of the season.

Both played their part in securing a clean sheet, the former making multiple excellent saves throughout the contest.

Elsewhere in the same division, Neo Dobson was named in the starting line up as Kettering Town were defeated away to Needham Market.

The forward had two chances to open his Poppies account within a few minutes of each other midway through the first half, hitting the post before shooting narrowly wide from close range.

He was substituted with 20 minutes of normal time remaining.

Meanwhile, midfielders Reuben Wyatt and Jacob Scott both started for AFC Rushden and Diamonds who suffered a defeat at home to Gresley Rovers in the Northern Premier League Midlands.

Wyatt came close to getting on the scoresheet with a number of efforts from long range, whilst Scott was denied by the woodwork from a tight angle on the half-an-hour mark before forcing the ‘keeper into a late save.
