JON BRADY WAITING ON INJURED PLAYERS AHEAD OF OXFORD UNITED TRIP

The views of the Cobblers boss

Jack Sowerby, Sam Sherring, Danny Hylton, Akin Odimayo, Ali Koiki, Ben Fox and Tyler Magloire were all unavailable for selection last weekend due to injury with boss Jon Brady uncertain if he will have any of those seven players back for Saturday’s trip to Oxford.

“We are waiting on one or two for the weekend,” he said.

“Saturday might come a bit too soon for those players but we will just have to wait and see."

New loan signing Tony Springett will however come into contention.

“We realised we needed to add to our frontline and we feel Tony is someone who fits our style quite well," said Brady.

“We feel he will be a really good addition for us, he wants to develop his game by playing more and through his performances he has the chance to do that here.

“We do give youngsters game time and we love developing young players, we are looking forward to working with him and we hope he enjoys his time here.

“With the injuries we’ve had it has been difficult but we have still been picking up points and that is down to the resilience of the squad and the players.

“We don’t like to speak about our business too much, we like to keep things pretty quiet and we will just see what transpires over the next couple of weeks.

“Things constantly change in football, we are starting to get some players back and that will determine what we do in the market.

“The balance in the squad has to be right and we have things to consider.”
