JON BRADY HAPPY TO TAKE POINT FROM WIGAN DRAW

The views of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady was happy with a point as he reflected on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.

Sam Hoskins put the Cobblers in front from the penalty spot but Josh Magennis scored from close range in the second half to ensure the game ended all-square.

“We can be better but overall I’m quite pleased with that today,” he said.

“Wigan are a good side, they move the ball well and cause you all sorts of problems.

“The boys worked extremely hard to nullify them and we dug in and showed huge desire and heart.

“The goal we conceded was a bit sloppy but apart from that we did manage to restrict them to minimal efforts and that’s what was really pleasing.

“We can be better in the final third but we have to be happy with our current run of form.

“We’ve got some big players missing and that is frustrating.

“We are another point closer to safety and that’s our goal. Oxford will be another challenge, they have signed some players in the transfer market and that’s the challenge we face but we go there having sold out our ticket allocation and we are hugely grateful for the supporters backing.”
