Tenth-placed Northampton Town travel to sixteenth-placed Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

TEAM NEWS

Jon Brady says he still has a number of injury concerns to contend with ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Charlton.

“The players had the day off on Saturday but we trained well on Sunday in preparation for Charlton,” he said.

“We might have some players back for Tuesday night but it may be too soon for others.

“There is some daylight on the injury front but we will just have to wait and see with the two games we’ve got this week.”

Northampton Town lost 2-1 away to Charlton Athletic in the last meeting between the sides towards the end of the 2020-21 Sky Bet League One season.

Jake Forster-Caskey won a penalty for the Addicks on the hour mark, and Conor Washington fired a low drive past Jonathan Mitchell from 12 yards.

The striker doubled his tally and his side’s lead late on when substitute Andrew Shinnie’s shot was saved by the ‘keeper and he finished the rebound.

Cobblers sub Alex Jones, making his debut for the club, halved the deficit with an added-time header, but it was too little, too late for the visitors.
