CONTINUITY AND COMPETITION PLEASES JON BRADY

The views of the Cobblers boss

28 February 2024

Jon Brady has named the same starting XI for the last three fixtures and the Cobblers boss is pleased to have had that continuity.

“I do like continuity but I can also be flexible if we need to be,” he said.

“Having players back and available and more competition for places is great. We’ve got some bumps and bruises from the weekend but hopefully everyone should be okay for Charlton. I’m not expecting anyone else to come back in for Saturday and the squad will be similar.

“We’ve had a busy schedule of late and it’s been good to have this midweek free but we know we have got the same challenge ahead.

"It is a brutal schedule but we have to face it head on.

“We’ve been patient with the players coming back like Ben Fox and we’ve had to gradually build up minutes.

“Ben coming back has been a big positive and it’s been good for Will Hondermarck to get a run of games. He’s in strong form and it’s great to have that competition for places that we’ve now got. I’ve not always had that before in my time here and to have that competition is a massive positive for us."

Brady has also provided a fitness update on Tyler Magloire, Danny Hylton, Ali Koiki, Aaron McGowan, Akin Odimayo and Lee Burge.

“Tyler is progressing well but we are not going to rush it with him. He’s back on the grass, but it’s been a long hard road for him and we want to play the long game.

“Danny Hylton is fit and he’s chomping at the bit in training. He’s a great option to have if and when we need him.

“For Aaron, Akin, Ali and Lee we are looking at the end of March but we have some competition for places and that's great.”
