Jon Brady was left to reflect on a 'disappointing day' as he looked back on Saturday’s 2-0 away defeat at Fleetwood.
“It was a disappointing afternoon in a good season overall,” he said.
“Conditions were pretty bad and credit to Fleetwood they outfought us at the start and put us on the back foot.
“I don’t think we played the conditions, we overplayed in certain areas and Fleetwood won the battle.
“At 2-0 down it was always an uphill battle, we played better in the second half and Kieron’s goal shouldn’t have been disallowed but it was probably too late anyway to make a difference.
“We didn’t do the basics right today and we didn’t win the battle. We needed to get forward more early on with more quality.
“We’ve overachieved this season but today hurts. We know we should be a lot better than we were in the first 30 minutes and we need to try and put that right against Exeter.
“I expect us to do the basics right and the players want to show pride and finish the season off well.
“The fans have been brilliant all season and we wanted to put on a better show for them today but they know we can bounce back from this and that’s what we will be aiming for against Exeter.”
