JORDAN WILLIS SIGNS FOR NORTHAMPTON TOWN

Defender becomes latest new addition

7 October 2023

Northampton Town have signed defender Jordan Willis on a contract until the January transfer window.

The experienced 29 year old central defender made his debut in November 2011 as a 17 year old for Coventry City in a Championship fixture against Southampton, going on to make over 200 appearances in eight years for the Sky Blues, playing at all levels of the EFL before moving to Sunderland in the summer of 2019.

In a three year stay at Sunderland, Willis made 60 appearances before joining Wycombe Wanderers at the end of the January 2023 transfer window, playing nine times for the Buckinghamshire side in the closing stages of last season.

"We are delighted to welcome Jordan to the club," said manager Jon Brady.

"He is a defender with a huge amount of experience, particularly of playing in League One and we feel he will help add depth to the squad in a key position.

"He has been training with us for a few weeks so we have had the chance to have a good look at him and to see how he fits in, so we know he is ready to go and we believe he will be a good addition.

"The Chairman and the Board of Directors have been very supportive in extending the budget again for this signing to happen and we thank them for that.

"We believe Jordan's experience and pedigree will be a big asset to us ahead of a busy period in the season and we are pleased to add him to the squad."
