The views of the Cobblers boss

3 October 2023

Jon Brady praised his side after Tuesday night’s 3-1 home win over Reading.

“For the first twenty minutes we had Reading right on the back foot,” he said.

“The way we started and the way we played gave us a strong foothold in the game but in the second half we had to dig in a little bit and show a different side to our game.

“We had to ride a few storms but we still looked a threat on the counter attack.

“We had to make some changes and there are some players who came off with niggles that we will need to assess.

“The energy we showed in the first half is credit to the group, we have asked for consistency in the way we play and the players deserve all the plaudits for the performance tonight and against Exeter.

“We’ve probably not got the points we feel we deserve from our first ten games but in the last two games we’ve been a lot more clinical.

“Reading are a high level team in my opinion, we’ve had a tough start and to get back to back wins is big for us.”
