Three Northampton Town Football and Education Programme squads were in action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Development squad won 6-1 at home to Aston Villa in the EFL Community & Education Football Alliance League Men’s Cup.
Joel Adjekum and Jack Anderton-Gill both scored braces, whilst a Tom Lewis strike and an own goal brought the Cobblers’ tally to six.
Immediately following the Devs’ victory, the Small-Sided team played their EFL CEFA Women’s Cup tie against the same opposition.
The Cobblers were defeated 1-0 by the Villains.
Elsewhere, the Elite squad were beaten away to Plymouth Argyle in the National Football Youth League South Premier Division.
