Northampton Town Women Development won 5-0 at home to Leicester City Ladies in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Division One South on Sunday afternoon.
Alex Bartlett and Ona Ndefo both scored braces whilst Cassidy Flynn netted the other goal, the Cobblers ending the contest with 10 players on the pitch under the age of 18.
The hosts dominated the first half but were unable to open the scoring until two minutes before half-time when Ona Ndefo dribbled down the left and found captain Bartlett who fired into the top corner from 25 yards.
The Cobblers continued to control proceedings after the break and doubled their lead early on, Bartlett receiving the ball on the edge of the area and finding the bottom corner.
Ndefo pounced on a loose goal-kick, sprinted past a defender and finished to extend her side’s advantage on the hour mark.
The striker smashed Kitty Crouch’s through-ball home from close range to double her tally five minutes later.
Cassidy Flynn added the Cobblers’ fifth to complete the scoring, finding the back of the net with a deflected cross-shot after her initial corner was cleared.
