Jon Brady was delighted as second half goals from Marc Leonard and Sam Hoskins secured a 2-0 home win over Burton Albion.
“We needed that and every player came to the table today,” he said.
“Its been tough but the performance today showed the work rate and energy we need.
“I felt we needed more energy in our play and we had that today.
“The game opened up a bit in the second half, we broke on them brilliantly and out of possession we showed good energy to get back into shape.
“It’s a good result but the most pleasing thing for me is the performance and the energy and tempo we showed.
“We’ve been through a tough spell but the performance today gives us something to build on and take forward.
“We are starting to get players back and Jon Guthrie maybe able to get a few minutes against MK Dons which would be a big boost.
“It was a special day for the club being Community Day, we have a special connection with the community here and the new community pitch is brilliant.”
