BUSY DAY PLANNED TO MARK COMMUNITY DAY AND REMEMBRANCE FIXTURE

Your guide to Saturday's events

9 November 2023

Saturday is both the club's annual Community Day and remembrance fixture and we have plenty of activities taking place.

At noon, the official opening of the new community pitch takes place here at Sixfields. The pitch, which has been built behind the LCS Commercial Dave Bowen Stand and will be open to the community, is the club’s prize for winning the More Than Football Award last year. The #MoreThanFootball award, powered by Musco, aims to honour the best social initiatives in Europe delivered by a European Club, League or FA by celebrating the work they do on and off the pitch on a local, national and international level.

The official opening is scheduled for noon, while at 12.20pm there will be a showcasing of some of the club's community groups using the new pitch. From 1pm the pitch will be open for free play on the pitch under guidance of community coaches.

At 2pm, over at the Walter Tull Memorial, the club's annual service of remembrance will take place, while a pre-match period of silence will happen before kick off.

Meanwhile, at half time, there will be a lap of honour from just some of the people who participate in the club’s community programmes. We would ask supporters to please show your appreciation as those involved make their way around the pitch.
