A LOOK BACK AT THE 2022 SUMMER RECRUITMENT

Can you remember who the Cobblers signed and when last summer?

With the summer transfer window open, we take a look back on how last summer shaped up for Northampton Town ahead of what was ultimately a promotion winning season.

The summer of 2022 was a slightly different off season. The impending Qatar World Cup meant an earlier than usual start, July 30th to be exact, and that meant the summer recruitment was timed accordingly.

The first signing of the summer of 2022 was midfielder Ben Fox, he was announced on June 18th, quickly followed by Ryan Haynes three days later.

On the same day as Haynes, striker Danny Hylton was also announced, while two days after that, goalkeeper Lee Burge was confirmed as new signing number four.

Six new faces arrived in July. Akin Odimayo was the first new signing of the month, on July 2nd. Sam Sherring joined the pre-season training camp on July 6th before Harvey Lintott (July 11th) and Kieron Bowie (July 12th) both arrived in successive days.

Finally, in the week leading up to the season, Marc Leonard signed on July 25th and Tyler Magloire on July 28th.

Jon Brady has often spoken of the benefits of remaining patient and waiting for the right players, and that was certainly the plan for the summer 2022 recruitment.
