A look at the weekend action for our young players out on loan or work experience

Eight Northampton Town loanees played for their temporary clubs on Saturday afternoon.

Liam Cross started for Leamington who lost away to Peterborough Sports in the Vanarama National League North.

Elsewhere, Ayo Lekuti was in action for Bromsgrove Sporting who narrowly lost 3-2 away to Leiston in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

The defender won the corner that led to his side’s second goal as his curled effort aiming for the top corner was denied.

Meanwhile, Dylan Hill and Kai O’Keeffe both featured for Harborough Town who won 1-0 at home to Gresley Rovers in the Northern Premier League Midlands.

The youth team pair were each involved in first-half chances, midfielder Hill heading off target and forward O’Keeffe sending in a free-kick that was diverted onto the crossbar.

Finally, four Cobblers youngsters played in uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South fixtures.

Brad Smith-Howes and Kenny Ndefo both turned out for Wellingborough Town who lost 1-0 at home to Bugbrooke St. Michaels, Rico Duggan’s Desborough Town won 2-1 away to Lutterworth Town and Tommy Curry was a second-half substitute as Cogenhoe United lost 3-1 at home to Newport Pagnell Town.

Forward Curry made an impact off the bench despite his side’s defeat, assisting their goal and setting-up a number of other chances.
