JON BRADY - 'THERE IS NO EXPECTATION ON US, WE'LL JUST KEEP ENJOYING OUR FOOTBALL'

The thoughts of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady says that given the number of injuries currently within the Northampton Town squad, there is no expectation on his players as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-0 away win at Doncaster Rovers where a goal in each half from Mitch Pinnock and Sam Hoskins saw the Cobblers move up to second in Sky Bet League 2.

“It was important for us to get the three points, we had another blow this week losing Sam Sherring but we have found a way again today,” he said.

“The players have been incredible and we are just going to keep enjoying the run that we are on.

“With the amount of injuries we’ve got there shouldn’t be any expectations for us right now but the players keep achieving against all the odds.

“We looked solid and strong and we restricted Doncaster. To have four centre-halves out and still find a way is a fantastic achievement.

“Aaron McGowan came in and did well but they were all brilliant back there and it was a good all round team effort.

“We know what we’ve got to try and do and we will keep chipping away and hopefully we will be where we want to be at the end of the season.

“It’s a fantastic achievement by Sam, I think he’s been aiming for that 20 goal mark and hopefully now he’s there he can relax a bit more. He’s a great finisher and a real team man.

“The support we had from the fans was absolutely brilliant again and we will need them right behind us next week against Stevenage.”
