THREE NEW SIGNINGS FOR NORTHAMPTON TOWN WOMEN

Meet the new additions to the squad!

24 June 2023

Northampton Town Women have made three new signings ahead of their second season in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.

Joint-managers Josh Oldfield and Liam Williams have been working hard behind the scenes in the off-season as the Cobblers prepare to build on a solid first season in the fourth tier.

Ruby Heselden has arrived from FAWNL Southern Premier Division side Milton Keynes Dons. The defender also came through the Cobblers youth system and is a key member of the club’s Football and Education Programme Women’s squad.

In terms of outgoings, four players departed the club at the end of the 2022-23 season.

Jo Daniel, Sara Wait, Abbie Brewin and Rachael Mumford have all left the squad.

Goalkeeper Daniel and defender Wait both made over 150 appearances for Northampton, whilst midfielders Brewin and Mumford each played important roles throughout the Cobblers’ EMWRFL Premier ‘invincibles’ campaign and first ever season in the FAWNL.

We are grateful to all four players for their efforts during their time with the club and wish them the very best in the future.
