The 2023-24 Northampton Town Women fixture list has been revealed.
The Cobblers will be competing in the fourth tier for the second time in the club’s history. They finished fifth in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands last season.
Josh Oldfield and Liam Williams’ side kick-off the campaign with a local derby as they host rivals Peterborough United on the opening day of the season on Sunday 20th August.
They travel to new opposition in recently-relegated Loughborough Lightning in their next match a fortnight later.
Northampton face two more new opponents in back-to-back home games in early October, newly-promoted Sutton Coldfield Town on Sunday 8th and recently-relegated Boldmere St. Michaels in the week commencing Monday 9th.
The Cobblers’ fixture against Boldmere is one of four midweek fixtures with dates that are yet to be confirmed, alongside Solihull Moors at home in the w/c Monday 4th September, the same opponents away in the w/c Monday 19th February and the Boldmere reverse fixture in the w/c Monday 11th March.
Oldfield and Williams’ side are currently scheduled to end the season away to Notts County, a newly-promoted outfit who finished sixth when the Cobblers won the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Premier Division title in the 2021-22 campaign.
