Jon Brady has been speaking at the club’s training camp in Scotland.
“The first few days have been really good,” he said.
“Conditions have been ideal for training and all the boys have enjoyed it.
“Over the last couple of years it’s been really important for our group to knit together, the majority of the group obviously already know each other inside and out but I think it is still important to get everyone together after the break.
“We want to build that camaraderie first and foremost and then build those connections on the pitch as well.
“The injuries have meant a slight change to our pre-season schedule this year and that’s why we are starting our games a little bit later than normal.
“We are probably looking at after Christmas to have Tyler Magloire back and a couple of others who won’t be back until a bit into the season.
“Everyone else is out on the grass at the moment which is important but we have some who haven’t touched a ball yet.
“Those players will be integrated more in the coming weeks and we will then have to drip feed them into the games towards the end of pre-season
“We might be a little bit stretched when the season starts but it’s how we bring those players back in which is important.
“It’s great that we are in League 1, that’s where we feel we should be and that’s what we wanted, the main thing for us now is to be ultra-competitive.
“There are a lot of great grounds to go to and good teams to play and it’s a challenge we are looking forward to.”
