DEFENSIVE SOLIDITY AGAINST PROVEN STRIKE FORCE PLEASED COBBLERS BOSS - BUT FRUSTRATED BY NOT FINDING A WINNER

Jon Brady looking back on the draw with Walsall

Jon Brady took the positives from last Saturday's draw with Walsall as he reflected on the game following a period of further analysis as he began the build up to this weekend's trip to Rochdale.

“It was a really tough game against Walsall but there were lots of positives. We really restricted Walsall in terms of chances and that was a great effort when you think they had a pair of strikers who scored 47 goals between them at this level last season.

“We had a few little chances ourselves and it’s the fine margins that we’ve spoken about. We kept pushing very hard but weren’t quite able to get that winner.

“We had some good passages of play in the first half but the second half got very bitty for both teams. Walsall made it difficult for us and we just couldn’t quite get that foothold.

“There wasn’t that fluidity and tempo in the second half but we’ve had back-to-back clean sheets now and it’s really important we build on that. Our back three were excellent and it was great for Tyler Magloire in his first full game back to get through the full 90."
