JON BRADY PROUD OF HIS PLAYERS AFTER THEY PUT BODIES ON THE LINE IN AFC WIMBLEDON DRAW

The thoughts of the Cobblers boss

Jon Brady was proud of the way his players put their bodies on the line as he reflected on Tuesday night’s goalless draw with AFC Wimbledon.

“We had two really key chances but its not quite going in for us at the moment,” he said.

“You can see that there is a purpose and intensity to us, we had energy and tempo tonight but our cutting edge has to be better.

“We really tried to push in the second half and we were positive but in the end it wasn’t to be.

“We are trying things and it’s a young group that is learning and getting better.

“I was disappointed with some of the reaction at full-time, we are in fourth position, the style of football is better than it ever has been and we are trying.

“I have an unbelievable group that is working so hard for us and I need all the fans right behind us. We have young talent coming through and with some of the fans I don’t know what it is they want to see.

“The players have created that expectation but we want to be on this journey together. If we go up this season then great, but if not we go again.

“I’m proud of my players and the effort and energy they are giving for this football club. They are putting their bodies on the line.

“We haven’t scored tonight but we keep working to try and find the solutions to be better in that final third.”
