Jon Brady was relieved to secure a point as he reflected on Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Rochdale, Ben Fox scoring late on to cancel out Ian Henderson’s strike.
“We knew the challenge here would be tough and in the end I’m just glad we managed to come away with a point,” he said.
“Rochdale made it really difficult for us and we weren’t bright enough to break their back line in the first half.
“The subs coming on made a huge difference for us and we were then a lot braver on the ball. We created a lot more after that, Ben Fox was exceptional today and he deserved his goal.
“We shouldn’t have to go a goal down to be brave on the ball and that was disappointing.
“At the end of the season the point today could be the point we need but we need to be a lot more purposeful in our play.
“A third of our squad weren’t available today but we have to deal with that and keep fighting. We can be better and we have to be better on Tuesday night.
“We have got to be braver from the off and in the way we break the opposition down. I’m going to let the dust settle on today, I won’t make snap decisions but I’ll watch the game again and then pick the best side to attack AFC Wimbledon.”
