Jon Brady was delighted as Tyreece Simpson scored deep into second half stoppage time to secure a dramatic 2-1 home win over Oxford United, a result that lifted the Cobblers up to tenth in Sky Bet League 1.
“I’m really pleased with the result and with the Saints winning as well its another great weekend for the town,” he said.
“I felt we dominated the first half and we put some great passages of play together.
“It was great for Tyreece to come on and get the winner with a header and I’m really pleased for him.
“I was disappointed with the penalty we gave away but we showed great character again to come back from that and go on to get the win.
“It doesn’t always work out like that and sometimes you can get a sucker punch but overall today I felt we deserved the win.”
