Jon Brady says there is much in the way that Wycombe Wanderers have done as a club that the Cobblers should look to emulate ahead of Wanderers' visit to Sixfields on Saturday.
“Wycombe are a strong League One side who have recently been in the Championship,” he said.
“They are always there or thereabouts in this league and they are a club that it would be great if we could try and emulate over the next few years.
“It always takes a bit of time when a new manager comes in and although Wycombe might not have got the results in their first couple of games this season, they are starting to kick on now.
“They have had some really positive results and it was a big win for them at Bristol Rovers last weekend.
“They have good players and a good manager and we will respect them but we won’t fear them.
“We will play our way and take our game to them."
