Jon Brady says the way his side have played in the first two league games has given them real belief ahead of the midweek visit of Lincoln City.
“We knew coming into the season that we were still going to be getting some of the group up to speed but to see the way we have played gives us real belief," he said.
“We have to get through this period with real purpose and if we can keep the consistency in our purpose and performance we will pick up points."
The Cobblers boss also provided an update on the fitness of Lee Burge and Ali Koiki who are among a group of players currently unavailable.
“Lee took a knock last week and we are just assessing the situation. That said, Max has done really well since coming in to the side.
“Ali has a knock as well and it’s the same situation there really. We will assess things over the next couple of days and see where we are, but we aren't taking any risks with them."
