NORTHAMPTON TOWN COMMUNITY TRUST GIVES LOCAL FOSTER CHILDREN A DAY TO REMEMBER

Alliance are a leading independent fostering agency (part of the National Fostering Group) providing children and young people across central England with nurturing and loving homes. Their aim is to enable them to reach their full potential and have a happy and healthy start in life.

Having reached out to Northampton Town Football Club, it was arranged for a group of children and some of their carers to come down to Sixfields to a coaching session followed by a tour of the stadium to see what happens behind the scenes of their local football club. Children were able to see where the commentary and analysis takes place, sit in the famous dug outs and enter the home dressing room. They also bumped into a few of the first team along the way.

Sarah Quarterman, Support Worker at Alliance said: “Thank you for kindly inviting our children and young people from our fostering agency, to attend Northampton Football Stadium. We reached out to NTFC to see if we could come to the stadium as you are local to our fostering agency, and felt it would be a good opportunity to promote fitness and wellbeing to all our children and young people.

"We have lots of children and young people who are interested in football and they may not of had the opportunity to experience something like this before. This may inspire them with future goals, as well as encourage them to support and be a part of the football community they live in.”

Damon Fox – Business Development Manager at the Northampton Town Community Trust said: “It was great to have the children, some of the foster carers and staff to come and see us at Sixfields. At NTFC Community Trust we look to open our doors to as many local groups as we can to give them experiences they may never forget. Within our education department we often work with children who are vulnerable and haven’t always got the opportunity to access sport or physical activity. We hope to see the children again down at Sixfields with a new passion and love for the Cobblers."
