Jon Brady previews Saturday’s home fixture with Harrogate Town and said the squad will once again need the backing of the Shoe Army.

“Tuesday night was another step to where we want to be and I’d like to thank the fans once again for their support.

“It was an amazing night, they made such a difference to us and it feels like a real special connection.

“The players have mentioned it as well and as I said after the game it felt like the supporters put a barrier of sound up to protect our goal. Unless you were there you wouldn’t feel it but it was something very special.

“What’s riding on the games at the moment has probably added to the atmosphere but this is what you work to as a footballer and as a manager. You work hard for these moments and this is the fruit of all our hard labour over the last two and a bit years.

“There is a special connection amongst the players which we had last year as well and the new players that have come in have added to that.

“They are a group that really manage each other, we talk tactically about how we want to play and what we want to do but in the changing room we have some great leaders and some great characters throughout the whole squad.

“That’s not just the more experienced players, the young ones are really stepping up as well and you only have to look at Max Dyche’s performance the other night to see that.

“It feels like something special and there is a little bit of magic in this group. You can’t buy or manufacture team spirit and I feel if you treat players right you get that back in abundance.

“When we recruit first and foremost we want fantastic human beings and that’s what we’ve got in this group.

“We keep striving to be at our best in the next game and that’s Harrogate this weekend.

“They have turned around their form and they have done really well recently. We know it won’t be easy but we know how we’ve been playing and we want to meet them head on.

“We know what we need to do and first and foremost that’s playing to the best level we can and if we do that we will give ourselves every chance of getting a positive result."
